Plants in home

Comfort Maximized – From New Plants to Furnace Service

With cooler temperatures settled in and days that seem like there’s barely any sunshine, it can be tough to always feel like your home is a comfortable place to be. That goes far beyond completing annual furnace service too, because there are various things you can do to help make your home feel comfy even when your furnace is running at its best.

Here are a couple that we find very helpful here in Northwest Arkansas:

  • Seal air leaks. Air leaks, whether they’re around your windows or your doors, could mean quite a bit of air is sneaking out of your home. And, the air that you’ve just paid to be heated or cooled is heading outside too. There are a variety of options that can help you shut those gaps, from weatherstripping to caulking, and they are pretty basic fixes for homeowners to do themselves.
  • Switch your furnace filter. This is one of the most crucial things you can do to not only improve your furnace’s efficiency, but also to help save you money. Plus, you don’t need to have your furnace service technician to do it, you can take care of it yourself. It’s typically recommended to change your furnace filter every one or two months to get the most out of its benefits, but some could last even longer.
  • Add plants. Indoor plants can leave you with a variety of comforts for your home. Not only are they visually pleasing, they may potentially boost your indoor air quality as well because plants absorb a host of contaminants that are emitted from various common household cleaners, paints and other products.
  • Furnace service. This should be something that you’re already doing, but it never hurts to have a reminder. Having furnace service completed annually helps make sure that your furnace is in working-order, and if there’s a need for repairs, those can be addressed so your comfort isn’t compromised.

It doesn’t have to feel hard to keep a comfortable home when winter sets in. Feel free to give us a call at 479-372-4304 or schedule an appointment online to hear about any of these suggestions or find out more about furnaces, our furnace service or anything else comfort related.
